Sir Stirling Moss, International Motorsport Hall of Fame member, 4 times Formula 1 vice-champion, many Grand Prixs and other endurance races winner, including Millie Milgia. He was an iconic person in racing in the 50's, however he got the biggest fame as Juan Manuel Fangio's team mate in Mercedes in Formula 1. Apart from this he also used to take a part in various races during literally all of the weekends in year. Some time ago we published a long interview with him at our website, but today we are also glad to show you our next conversation with Sir Stirling.

Question 1: Street circuits or classic ones?

Sir Stirling: For me all of them seem to be classic, but I would certainly go for street circuits, like Monaco and so on, but I also like Nürburgring, what is actually classic.

Question 2: Wet or dry track?

Sir Stirling: I would like wet track, because it suited me better and all the other people liked it less than I did.

Question 3: Understeer or Oversteer?

Sir Stirling: Understeer is easier to cope with, but I think that oversteer is better if you have the ability to drive however is more difficult. For example, if you are like Vettel, you can handle with one and the other, but if you are not, you can do nothing with oversteer.

Question 4: Cars with DRS or without DRS?

Sir Stirling: I have never had DRS so I don't have a knowledge about it, and I prefer cars without this system.

Question 5: Hybrid engines or internal combustion engines?

Sir Stirling: As I don't know much about the new, hybrid ones, I would go probably for the old, classic ones.

Question 6: Straights or corners?

Sir Stirling: Straight don't exist, they are joining corners.

Question 7: Monza or Spa?

Sir Stirling: Spa, certainly. Monza has a great tradition, but doesn't have the same requirements. I had a huge crash at Spa in 1960 so did 2 other drivers, Chris Birtsow and Allan Stacey, so it is really dangerous circuit for drivers, especially Eau Rouge, where Jean Behra went off. However I think that it also very exciting, I should say.

Question 8: Softs or mediums?

Sir Stirling: In my days there no types of tires. You have one type of tires and maybe second one for wet if you were lucky. I used them one time. Dunlop brought them once and they were actually faster on dry track, but they wouldn't last long, so making decision when to make a pit stop was also a challenge. However I would choose softs, because I think they are faster.

Question 9: Race or qualifying?

Sir Stirling: I think they go together. You have to be as fast as possible in qualifying to get the best possible position in race.

Question 10: Ferrari or McLaren?

Sir Stirling: Ferrari, however I haven't been driving a Ferrari very much.

Question 11: Senna or Prost?

Sir Stirling: I would put Fangio above both of those because I think he was better. I used to beat him in sports cars but in Formula 1 he was unbeaten. I am very pro-Fangio so that's my choice.

Question 12: Lewis or Nico?

Sir Stirling: Certainly Lewis, that's obvious, but I think that the driver who is better than both of them is Vettel.  At the moment Vettel is the best driver, the fastest.

Question 13: Party or evening with friends?

Sir Stirling: In my case... evening with friends.

Question 14: Trendy music or classical music?

Sir Stirling: Well, I would say mixture. I really don't like the heavy-classical music, the light classical is fine. However in a few days time I am going for a concert where music from the 50's will be played.

Question 15: Summer holidays or winter holidays?

Sir Stirling: I would take my holidays in winter, because in Summer I would hope to race. I was doing 50 races a year and now they don't, because if you do Formula 1, you don't do sports cars, you don't do touring cars.
